A particular focus is placed for the design of this home on blending seamlessly with the native landscape and prioritizing a connection with nature. The simple geometric forms, natural materials such as cedar siding, stone walls, walks, and patios, and emphasis on functionality coalesce into a warm and casual home for an active family. The design intentionally weaves through an existing grove of native blue oaks, creating a series of interconnected living spaces. Walls are minimized fostering a sense of unity between the different functional areas of the house. The house integrates with the natural surroundings. Large windows, glass doors, and outdoor spaces such as decks and patios blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living.
